Pergolas, Patio Covers, and Custom Shade Structures

At Duncan Fence and Patio we have the expertise to seamlessly integrate our designs in to your existing structure! If you’re looking for some extra shade to escape the Texas heat, we will work with you to customize a design that fits your home and your style.

  • Backyard patio with wooden pergola, swing, ladder, and string lights, adjacent to brick house with large windows, enclosed by wooden fence under a partly cloudy sky.

    Patio Covers

Patio covers are usually an extension of your home’s roof: shingled and attached to your house. They are weatherproof and can be personalized with different stone, lights, fans, television cabinets, speakers, heaters or even misters!

  • A wooden porch swing with a beige cushion hanging from a wooden frame in a grassy outdoor area, with a stone pathway leading to it and a parking lot in the distance.

    Arbors

An arbor is a free-standing structure supported by two or four posts with a slatted, often arched roof. You typically would see this as a sort of entry way to a garden or small resting area in one part of your yard. Generally, arbors are covered with lattice or some sort of crisscross design to allow for climbing plants and vines to grow.

  • Wood pergola with lattice sides over a patio with outdoor furniture, hot tub, and barbecue grill, in a backyard with trees and a cloudy sky

    Pergolas

A pergola is similar to an Arbor, but usually much larger as it is meant to cover a deck or patio. It consists of columns supporting a grid of beams and rafters. It is an open-air concept where you are more susceptible to the elements because of its open rafters.

**There is an option to add Polygal to your pergola, which creates a clear roof for the structure allowing you to enjoy your patio rain or shine. Pergolas can be either a freestanding structure or attached to your home.
